Deutsche Fassung

The German version of this site features a lengthy attempt to justify the existence of personal web pages. (Germans sometimes experience strange urges to justify themselves for issues of which nobody accused them in the first place...)

As I cannot be bothered to re-write the entire essay in English I prefer to trust that you would not be reading this very sentence if—for whatever reason—you were not interested. I guess my bottom-line was that (despite various objections, threats, and unwilling side-effects) it is increasingly becoming a necessity to (re)present oneself online. More importantly, however, it is a chance and challenge to communicate with people—particularly former friends and acquaintances, but also strangers. [If you want to read the longer essay, you can find and automatically translate it here >>.]

Instead of the essay, the English version of this site features some answers to frequently unasked questions [FUQ >>].
